Thank you for your interest in Hinson Baptist Church’s pastoral residency program. As a church, we are committed to seeing the gospel spread to the ends of the earth. One of our convictions here at Hinson is that no one church is big enough to fulfill the Great Commission by itself. Rather, our desire is to see many healthy churches throughout our city, our nation, and our world.
The pastoral residency program at Hinson affords us the occasion to focus time, attention and resources on the training of future pastors, who will give themselves to serving Christ’s church, both here and around the world. Our purpose is not to invest in the ministries of our church through this program. Rather, our goal is to pour into these men as they spend a semester with us studying, reflecting, and observing. The content of this program will be focused particularly on a theology of the church, matters of church polity, the role of God’s Word in preaching and teaching, and pastoral ministry and leadership.
Residents accepted into the program are expected to join the Hinson Baptist Church, having signed our Statement of Faith and Church Covenant, and are offered a stipend of $1000 per month, with an additional $500 per month towards housing. Residencies typically run for about five months with anywhere from three to six residents in each class. We currently only offer a fall program beginning in early August and running until mid-December. Acceptance into and/ or completion of the program in no way implies our affirmation of your sense of call and future employment at Hinson Baptist Church is not to be expected.
