Michael & Adrienne Lawrence have five children and began their ministry at Hinson in September, 2010. Michael came to faith at an early age, but never understood that the Christian life was more than salvation until he was introduced to the InterVarsity campus ministry at Duke University. After their marriage in 1990, both Michael & Adrienne earned their M.Div. degrees at Gordon-Conwell, and then Michael earned his PhD from Cambridge University in 2002. He came to us from Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington DC after serving as Associate Pastor for over 8 years. Michael loves books more than food and enjoys an eclectic mix of music. He and his family ride bikes everywhere and love outdoor activities.

My wife, Terry, and I have 2 married children in the Portland area and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Julia, Maddie & Jack. My vision is seeing the practical results of servant-hearts. My favorite scripture is MICAH 6:8 "What does the Lord ask of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." My Favorite book is whatever biography of an historical figure I happen to be reading at the time. A little known fact about me is that I have windsurfed in the Indian Ocean and climbed Mt. Karisimbi.
